OBITUARY OF MRS. CLARA FARMER HULL

Clara Alice Farmer, daughter of Lewis and Mary Farmer, was born September 3, 1869 near Ewart, Poweshiek county, Iowa, and departed this life December 25, 1925 at 2:30 p.m. at the age of 56 years, 3 months and 22 days. Her childhood days were spent around in Poweshiek County.

On May 27th, 1894 she was united in marriage to Ulysses Grant Hull, and at once settled on their farm, where they have remained until her death. A few years ago her health began to fail and everything possible was done for her, but of no avail. To this union were born three children, Albert Devern, Lena Marie and Lizzie Pauline. The children and husband, her little granddaughter Coleen, two brothers and one sister, are left to mourn her death, besides a host of neighbors and friends. She also raised her niece, Marie Farmer and was as kind and faithful as a mother could be, such was the disposition of her most open heart.

As a mother in her home, her only aim was for the comfort and welfare of her family; as a neighbor always ready and glad to give her help in time of need and always very generous to the needy, and to know her in a true sense was to admire and love her. So we feel sure that these few short years of this earthly life have been spent in a way that will secure for her, treasures in the next world only the just will enjoy.

A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love had given
And though the body slumbers
now,
The soul is safe in Heaven."

Funeral services on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock were in charge of Rev. C.D. Loose and interment made in the Friends cemetery in New Sharon.--New Sharon Star.
