C.C. WILLETT

Cecil Chester Willett, son of Rudolph and Amelia Willett, was born Nov. 28, 1886 near White Plains in Charles county, Maryland and died Oct. 8, 1952 at St. Francis hospital in Grinnell, following a long illness. He was 65 years old.

At an early age he was baptized into the Episcopal church. When a young man he came to Iowa where he spent the remainder of his life. In July, 1913 he married Lois M. Ogden, who preceded him in death. Two sons were born to the couple. He moved to Brooklyn where he lived for a year before moving to the present home west of Brooklyn.

In November, 1920 he was married to Flossie Brannian, who also preceded him in death. They were parents of one daughter.

Surviving are two sons, Chas. and Delmar of Brooklyn; a daughter, Mrs. Laurel Van Polen of Rose Hill; three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Maizie Ormiston of Brooklyn, Mrs. Verbena Hicks, Mrs. Selman Garner, Carroll and Harford Willett, all four of whom live in Maryland and Rudy Willett of Avoca. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Paul Figge, pastor of First Presbyterian church, conducted funeral services held Oct. 10 at Bramer's funeral home. Mrs. Ed Bartachek was at the organ. Mrs. John White and Mrs. Hobart Powell had charge of the flowers.

Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: John White, Henry Van Ersvelde, Henry Frus, Joe Ryan, Hobart Powell and William Davidson.
