JEAN IRELAND RITES THURSDAY

Jean Parmenter Ireland, 57, of 3749 June Ave. No., Crystal, Minn., died Sunday, Aug. 19, at Maple Lake, Minn.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Gilman, with the Rev. Donna Van Maanen officiating. Music was provided by Janice Everts, organist, and Rose Voigt, vocalist.

Pallbearers were Rick Barnes, Michael Everts, Gerald Ireland, Darrell McGrew, Mark Parmenter and Virgil Tone. Honorary bearers were Bert Barnes, Harold Barnes, Walter (Jake) Barnes and Elgin McGrew.

Burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery at Gilman, with the Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1927 at Gilman, the daughter of Willis and Blanche Barnes Parmenter. The family moved to Robbinsdale, Minn., where she graduated from Robbinsdale High School.

On June 26, 1946, she was married to Ivan E. Ireland at Nashua. The couple lived in Crystal where Mrs. Ireland worked for the Montgomery Ward store and as a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ivan; three children, Barbara J. Weber of Buffalo, Minn., and Richard and James Ireland, both of Anchorage, Alaska; five grandchildren; and one brother, Gary Parmenter of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents.
