RITES SET FOR MRS. PARMLEY

Mrs. Carrie A. Parmley, 92, of 311 Sixth Ave., Grinnell, died Monday evening at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Parmley will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with burial at Rock Creek Cemetery.

The daughter of Edwin and Lena Briceland Blythe, she was born March 1, 1885, at Scott County, Iowa. She attended rural schools in the Kellogg area and normal school at Newton, She later taught in rural Jasper County.

On Nov. 25, 1903, she was married to Olen Parmley at Newton, The couple farmed west of Grinnell.

Survivors include two sons, Wendell (Pearly) Parmley of Ladysmith, Wis., and Hollis H. Parmley of rural Grinnell; one grandson; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Cassius A. Parmley; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Josie Phipps and Mrs. Fannye Hill.
