BETTY SISSON
Betty Sisson, 63, of 624 Pearl St., died of congestive heart failure Monday, June 24, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Smith pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler. Pallbearers were Gene Breiting, Gene Campbell, Marvin Dayton, John Peak, John Snakenburg and Don Sowerwine.
Burial was in Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart.
The daughter of Charles and Myrtle Wilson Howard, she was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Grinnell. She received her education here and worked for many years for Grinnell Shoe Co. She also worked at the Pioneer Inn and at Wayne's Steak House.
She was married to Marvin Sisson March 24, 1959, in Raleigh, Neb. Mrs. Sisson was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, her mother and one sister, Donna Keup of Savannah, Mo. She was preceded in death by her father.
