Gordon Osborn, age 71, of Route 2, Brooklyn, died early Saturday morning, July 12, 1975, at his home. He was the son of Frederick and Mildred Jane Biddle Osborn and was born January 23, 1904, in Malcom Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa. He attended rural school near his home. On June 22, 1921, he was united in marriage to Fernne Alyn Rector in Iowa City. To this marriage were born six children: Neal, Keith, Gene, Lucille, Blythe and Karel.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Osborn lived in Tiffin, Iowa where Mr. Osborn was associated with the Rock Island Railroad and was also the Town Marshall. In 1931 they farmed near Malcom until 1937 when they moved to their present farm, west of Brooklyn.

Survivors include his wife, Fernne; five children, Neal Osborn of Tiffin; Gene Osborn of Route 2, Brooklyn; Mrs. George (Lucille) Erickson of Hartford; Mrs. Lee (Blythe) Johnson of Route 4, Grinnell; and Mrs. James (Karel) Shults of Grinnell; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Keith Osborn, who died May 21, 1954; one grandchild; and two brothers, Neal and Noel Osborn.

Funeral services for Gordon Osborn were held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, 1975, at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. John W. McCallum, minister of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating. Organist was Mrs. Willard Heffner. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.
