AN OBITUARY NOTICE OF MRS. LOUISA ROYCE

Louisa A. Geisler, daughter of Sebastian and Catharine Geisler, was born February 2, 1860, in Milford, Pennsylvania. On December 12, 1878, she was united in marriage to Joshua E. Rector, who preceded her in death April 28, 1883. To this union was born one son, Edwin Forest, now living in Kellogg, Iowa.

In March, 1880, she moved with her parents to Iowa, where she had resided until she was called to rest on May 8, 1935, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 6 days, after a serious illness of five weeks.

On March 10, 1887, she was united in marriage to Leonidas Royce, who preceded her in death March 9, 1932. To this union was born one son, Bryce Willard, of Washington, D.C., and one daughter, Vera Dell Magnusson, of Malcom.

Remaining to mourn her loss are the children mentioned before, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Fred Vest of Hayden, Colo., and Mrs. Frank Vest of Malcom; one sister, Mrs. F.A. Cummings of Rollo, Mo.; one brother, Henry Geisler of Malcom, and a niece, Catharine Geisler, who has made her home with her for the past six years; also six granddaughters, five grandsons; four great grandchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends.

On August 4, 1901, Mrs. Royce was admitted into the fellowship and membership of the Presbyterian church of Malcom by letter. Since that date of entrance, she had been a faithful worker in the Ladies' Aid and the Ladies' Missionary society. In recent times, her illness was of such a nature that she was unable to regularly attend the church worship services but her contributions to the material support of the church were not kept back, and her help was cheerfully volunteered whenever her health permitted.

Not only was her Christian life evidenced in that she had united with the church, but she had seen the Master's Star in the East and had come to worship Him at that shrine. Mrs. Royce was a charter member of the Holly Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Stars of Malcom. Since the very beginning of the Chapter, she had been a regular attendant at meetings and special events and had tried, so far as she was able, to live her life in accordance with that Order's teachings.

It is with true regret that her relatives and friends, the members of the church and of Holly Chapter bid farewell to Mrs. Royce. Her energy and zeal, in spite of the number of her years, will assuredly be missed. Her Christian life, her consideration for others, and friendship toward all are things we will long remember.
