DR. F.S. HILL, 81, KELLOGG DENTIST, DIES THURSDAY

Dr. F.S. Hill, 81, Kellogg dentist for more than half a century, died late Thursday morning at his home.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Kellogg Christian Church.

The Rev. Herbert Miller conducted the services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.

Graveside rites were conducted by members of Kellogg Meridian Masonic Lodge No. 280.

Dr Hill is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C.C. (Mary) Heischer of Arlington, Va.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Howard Wheatcraft of Kellogg and Mrs. Lloyd Ferguson of Laurens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen in September 1949; a brother and a sister.

Dr. Hill was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church. He served for many years as chairman of the church board and as Sunday school superintendent.

He was a member of Meridian Masonic Lodge No. 280 at Kellogg, the Eastern Star at Kellogg and the Jasper County and Iowa Dental Associations. Also, he was past president and charter member of the Kellogg Lions Club and served as zone chairman of the organization.

Dr. Hill was a member of the "I" Club, State Historical Society and the Izaak Walton League.

The son of Charles and Ida Mae Adams Hill, he was born east of the Jasper County Home and attended Turner grade school and Grinnell high school.

He graduated from the State University of Iowa school of dentistry in 1911 and was associated with Dr. J.G. Craven in Kellogg.

In 1961 Dr. Hill was honored by Kellogg residents on his 50th year in practice in the community.
