MABEL KELLER SERVICES HELD

Mabel Keller, 85, of Rte. 2, Brooklyn, died Thursday, Feb. 23, at Friendship Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Madison Church of Christ, with Dennis Smith, minister of the church, officiating. Organist was Marilyn Lang, and pallbearers were Robert Stirniman, James Stirniman, Michael Stirniman, David Keller, Robert Keller and Audie Harris. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brooklyn, with the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Andrew and Mary Miller Shadel, she was born Aug. 29, 1898, in Sheridan Township. She attended rural schools in Sheridan and Madison townships.

On Sept. 1, 1920, she was married to Peter George Keller, and they farmed in Madison Township. Mr. Keller died in 1966, and she continued to live in Madison Township until January, when she became a resident of Friendship Manor.

Mrs. Keller was a member of the Madison Church of Christ, the Ladies Aid and the New Idea Club.

She is survived by her children, Lorene Archer of Bella Vista, Ark., Virginia Gardner of Elmhurst, Ill., Wanda Stirniman of Ptosi, Wis., and Laurel Keller; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandson.
