The community was saddened Tuesday afternoon when word came that Fred Watson had passed away. He had been ailing all winter but said very little about it. He had entered the hospital in Des Moines Sunday afternoon and underwent a major operation Tuesday forenoon. Fred was past 74 years of age and had spent his whole life in this vicinity. He leaves his faithful wife, six sons and three daughters to mourn his passing.
