GENEVIEVE COULTHARD

Genevieve Almira Coulthard, 77, died Wednesday, July 17, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Raymond C. Lott, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud, and pallbearers were Tracy Bashore, Cliff Jones, Justin B. Smith, Bob Vogt, Edward C. Hajak, Brent Leggett, Tom Van Cleave, Dennis Vogt and Gary Wilson.

Fraternal rites were conducted by members of Rebekah Lodge No. 119. Burial was in Chester Cemetery north of Grinnell.

The daughter of Clarence A. and Selma Mae Sherman Vogt, she was born Jan. 26, 1914, on a farm east of Grinnell. She attended rural schools and Grinnell High School.

She was married to Howard Coulthard Feb. 12, 1955, in Corning. She was employed as a bookkeeper and accountant for the Gamble Store, The Grinnell Herald-Register and All Star Ford, retiring in 1976.

Mrs. Coulthard was a member of the board and treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary, a past regent of the Daughters of the American Colonists, a past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge No. 119, a member of the Lady Elks, and a volunteer at the Grinnell Historical Museum. She was also a member of the Blue Point Friendship Club and formerly served as a 4-H leader.

Surviving are her children, Gordon Felper of Searsboro, Maxine Smith of Keokuk and Marjorie Hajak Jr. of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Bradley of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a brother, Donald Vogt of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two great-grandchildren.
