NISWANDER SERVICES HELD

Emma Lucille Niswander, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, at a Marshalltown hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Harrison Funeral Home in Tama, with the Rev. Harland T. Gant, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Tama, officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Tama.

The daughter of George and Nettie McVey McNeal, she was born March 11, 1898, in Jackson Township, Poweshiek County. She attended school in Montezuma and was a member of the Pythian Sisters and Pleasant Hill Grange.

She was married to Perle Niswander on Jan. 30, 1918, in Montezuma. They farmed in the Tama area.

Survivors include a foster son, George LaMasters of Marshalltown; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sadie Ried of California. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976.
