RITES HELD FOR MR. NISWANDER

Perle George Niswander, 79, died Friday, June 18, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home in Tama. Burial was at Tama.

The son of C.M. and Nellie Hopwood Niswander, he was born Jan. 13, 1897, in Poweshiek County. He spent his entire life in Poweshiek and Tama counties.

He was married to Emma McNeal on Jan. 30, 1918, in Montezuma.

Survivors include his sister Mable Branian of Brooklyn; a foster son, George LaMasters of Marshalltown; and three grandchildren, Jane Butts of Marshalltown, Larry LaMasters of Marshalltown and Richard LaMasters of Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother Merle; and two sisters.
