C. ROGER SEARS

C. Roger Sears, 74, of Alma, Ark. died Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Arkansas.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren, Ark., with burial Monday, Jan. 24, at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.

Pallbearers were Richard Podany, Al Winders, Bill Alexander and Waymon and Carlton Betterton, and honorary pallbearers were George Bowles, Paul Harris, John Pannel, Thad Etherly and other members of veterans organizations.

Mr. Sears, a brother of the late Russell Sears, was retired from his job as a meter-reader at Iowa Southern Utilities. He left Grinnell about 10 years ago.

He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and had done volunteer work for the D.A.V.

Mr. Sears is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters, Frances Sears of Oskaloosa and Donna Haas of Findlay, Ohio; two sons, Clifford Sears Jr., of Ohio, and William Sears of Alma, and one sister, Alice Lutz of Madison, Wis., as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
