FLORENCE DOHRN, FORMER TEACHER, DIES WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Peter (Florence M.) Dohrn, 83, of 1716 Sixth Avenue, died Wednesday morning at her home following an extended illness.
The daughter of Thomas H. and Martha A. Hadden, she was born on Mar. 24th, 1883, at Cherokee, Iowa. She graduated from the public school of Cherokee and for 35 years taught school in the Deep River and Montezuma communities.
She was united in marriage with Peter Dohrn on Nov. 18th, 1921, at the Methodist church in Malcom. Following their marriage they farmed in the Brooklyn community for 18 years. After their retirement they moved to Oskaloosa where they resided for 14 years.
For the past 10 years they have made their home in Grinnell.
Mrs. Dohrn was a member of the Christian Science church.
She is survived by her husband, Peter, at the family home; her daughter, Mrs. Ray (Leone) Criswell of Grinnell; three grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother.
Private memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Friends may call at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home.
