ORAL BAILEY RITES FRIDAY

Oral C. Bailey, 87, of 1023 Spring St., Grinnell, died Tuesday at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Klem, pastor of the Kellogg-Bethel parish of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery southwest of Grinnell.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the church.

The son of Lyman and Evaline Meredith Bailey, he was born June 30, 1891, in the Bethel community. He attended rural schools.

He was married to Audrey Beals in Des Moines in 1916. The couple farmed his parents' farm in the Bethel area until retiring in 1961. They moved to Grinnell and Mr. Bailey was employed by DeKalb AgResearch.

He is survived by his wife. He was preceded in death by one son, Clifford, in infancy; two brothers, Manzel and Alna Bailey; and five sisters, Ida Hill, Maude Jordan, Ethel Case, Ada VanZanty, and Molly Poots.
