ETHEL CASE DIES; SERVICES TUESDAY

Ethel B. Case, 89, a resident of Grinnell, died Saturday morning at the Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Grinnell.

The daughter of Lyman and Evaline Meredith Bailey, Mrs. Case was born on Jan. 14, 1881, in the Bethel community of Jasper County. She received her education in the rural schools of this community.

On Feb. 5, 1908, she was married to Harry E. Case at her parents' home. Since her marriage she has lived in Grinnell with exception of a few years when she lived at Tama.

Mrs. Case was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, the Daughters of Union Veterans and the Fireman's Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son Lyman of Grinnell; her three daughters--Mrs. Austin (Idamarie) Smith of Grinnell, Mrs. Ellsworth (Billie) Walker of Montezuma, and Mrs. William (Marquerite) Martin of Grinnell; five grandchildren--Mrs. John (Camille) Calhoun of Iowa City, Lee Martin of Columbia, Mo., Mrs. Don Lincoln of Mankato, Minn., Mrs. Ben Crawford of Grinnell, and Billie Marie Martin of Grinnell; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Ida) Hill of Kellogg, and a brother, Oral Bailey of Grinnell.

Mrs. Case was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry E. Case on Jan. 11, 1947; three sisters and two brothers.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Heart Fund.

Funeral services for Mrs. Case will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home.

The Rev. Newell E. Davis and the Rev. Ralph Beebe will officiate.

Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Organist will be Kathleen Heffner. Serving on the flower committee are Mrs. Warren Lincoln and Jerry Slebiska.

Pallbearers will be John Mountain, Frank Lindsay, C.H. Dimit, M.W. Walter, Clarence Foster and Warren Lincoln.

Friends may call at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home.
