MRS. SEPTER SERVICES HELD

Gussie Septer, 79, Searsboro, died Saturday, Dec. 19, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Menning of Pella officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud, and vocalist was Gordon Van Donselaar. Pallbearers were Jim Foster, Ron Baker, Allen Diehm, Joe Diehm, Greg Van Dyke and Paul Weber.

Burial was in Sully Cemetery.

The daughter of Andrew and Clara Weber Diehm, she was born on April 21, 1908, east of Grinnell. She attended rural school.

On December 25, 1936, she was married to Chris Septer in Grinnell. The couple farmed near New Sharon, Taintor and Montezuma before moving to a farm northeast of Searsboro in 1943. Mrs. Septer had been a resident of Friendship Manor since 1976.

She is survived by her husband; two brothers, Fred Diehm of Newton and Arthur Diehm of Montezuma; and two sisters, Estella Vanderveer of Grinnell and Clara Foster of Malcom.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Bert, Leonard, Joseph and Gerald Diehm.
