JACOB DIEHM

Jacob E. "Jake" Diehm, 40, of 969 Highway T-38 S., Grinnell, died at his rural home Friday, Dec. 2, of injuries sustained when a farm tractor tipped and fell on him.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lon Lewis officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers were Wes Conover, Ron Duncan, Kenny Pearce, Chad Rose, Harold Rose Jr. and Pete Van Dyke.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions in Mr. Diehm's name may be made to the Grinnell Uninted Methodist Church.

The son of Bert and Georgia Belcher Diehm, he was born July 20, 1954, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools.

On Aug. 24, 1974, he was married to Lorna Lee Douglas at Brooklyn. The couple lived in the Grinnell area, and Mr. Diehm worked for the Heneke Seed Corn Co., Stadiums Unlimited and, at the time of his death, as a warehouseman for Van Wyk Freight Lines.

He is survived by his wife; his mother; two daughters, Brandi and Amber, both of Grinnell; seven sisters, Betty O'Halloran and Linda Diehm, both of Grinnell, Clara Duntz of Des Moines, Carol Rogers of Springfield, Mo.; Patricia Mauskemo of St. Charles, Minn., Diane Mortenson of Washington and Deb Howard of New Sharon; and two brothers, Joe and Dan, both of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Bertie.
