Georgia was born the daughter of Earl Belcher and Lulu Tennant Belcher on October 29, 1920, in Marshalltown, Iowa. The family moved several times throughout her youth before moving to Grinnell, Iowa. Georgia was united in marriage to Bernhardt "Bert" Diehm on December 17, 1938, in Newton, Iowa. The couple resided in Grinnell and to this union were born eleven children: Betty, Clara, Linda, Carol, Patricia, Joseph, Diane, Bertie, Jake, Debra and Daniel. Georgia worked at the Grinnell Shoe Factory and Midwest Manufacturing in Kellogg, Iowa before working at Saint Francis Hospital in Grinnell. She then was a homemaker who tended to the needs of their children. She found strength in her family and her faith in God and was known to have a keen sense of humor. She was an excellent cook who prepared "home-cooked" meals her family looked forward to on the holidays. Her enjoyments included tending to her garden and flowers, reading comic books, quilting, braiding rag rugs and reading the Bible several times over. Georgia is survived by her children, Betty (Duane) O'Halloran of Malcom, IA, Clara (Roland) Duntz of Des Moines, IA, Linda Diehm of Newton, IA, Carol (Harvel) Rogers of Springfield, MO, Patricia (Marvel) Mauskemo of Tama, IA, Joseph (Dorinda) Diehm of Newton, Diane (Kenneth) Mortensen of Keota, IA, Debbie (Rick) Howard of New Sharon, IA, and Daniel (Sheila) Diehm of Grinnell; and her 24 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Georgia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. She was 87 years of age and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons, Bertie and Jake Diehm; her great grandson, Tyler Howard; her great granddaughter, Caitlin Mauskemo; her brother, Earl Belcher; and her sisters, Helen Miller, Arlene Beason, Mary Mart and Armeta Moose.

Memorials may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
