EARL C. FOSTER DIES SUDDENLY; SERVICES TUESDAY

Earl Clyde Foster, 57, died suddenly Saturday afternoon at a Grinnell hospital. He had not been in the best of health for the last four years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. C. E. Kingsley, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Music will be by Mrs. Rhee Auman.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Gould, LeRoy Foster, Orville Foster, John Morgart, Gerald Foster, and John Harter, Jr. Burial will be in Hickory Grove cemetery.

He was the son of Benjamin and Anna Marie Burch Foster and was born Mar. 26th, 1904, in Grinnell, one of a family of 11 children. He received his early education in the country schools near Grinnell. On Apr. 14th, 1925, he was united in marriage with Frances Green Tegeler in Grinnell by the Rev. W.B. Wilson.

To this union were born four children: Mrs. Gene (Dorothy) Berry and Charles Foster, both of Grinnell, Richard Foster of Newton, and Larry Foster, who died in infancy. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by 11 grandchildren; one stepson, Virgil Foster of Dublin, Ga.; five brothers, Fenton, Ray, Clarence and Ralph Foster, all of Grinnell and Roy Foster of Maywood, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. John Harter and Mrs. Herman Chenoweth, both of Grinnell, and Mrs. Bill Irwin of Marshalltown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, and two sisters.

Mr. Foster had lived in Grinnell most of his life where he worked most recently at the O.K. Tire Shop. He lived in Kellogg for a short time where he was employed at the Midwest plant.
