MRS. BROWNELL MEMORIAL HELD

Mrs. Ella A. Brownell, 102, a former resident of Grinnell, died May 21 in Washington state.

She was born Jan. 12, 1870, near Westfield. After her marriage, she moved to Grinnell, where she lived until 1931 when she moved to Pasadena, Calif., to be with her daughter Ruth. From there they moved to Washington, living near Bellingham.

Mrs. Brownell is survived by her daughter, Ruth Weaver; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis in 1915 and her daughter Mary in 1923.

A memorial was held at the Allen United Methodist Church where she was a member.

The family requests that memorials be sent to Allen United Methodist Church, Bow, Wash., for the scholarship fund.

NOTE: Her dau. Mary died in 1924.
