MRS. MARY BROWNELL EVANS TRULY MOURNED

At Time of Death Was Almost 22 Years Old; Funeral Wednesday at Home.

Mary Hazel Brownell, daughter of Mrs. Ella Brownell, was born April 20, 1902 at Grinnell, Iowa, and departed this life on Sunday, March 9, 1924 at the time of her death being almost 22 years old. She passed away at the home of her mother at 703 Second avenue, following a severe illness since Christmas. She had been in poor health for several years.

She was married March 22, 1922 to Mr. Willis Evans and she spent her married life on the farm where her mother and father began housekeeping. She was a member of the class of 1921 of the high school and was forced to drop school because of poor health. Mary had a wide circle of acquaintances among the young people.

Mary was a member of the Methodist church and an active worker in Sunday School and missionary work.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Ella A. Brownell and one sister, Ruth Brownell. Her father preceded her in death over nine years ago.

Funeral services were held from the home of her mother on Second avenue Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.J. Todd and Rev. C.A. Carman. Interment was at Hazelwood. The pall bearers, all near relatives were: Herbert Pearce, Leonard Pierce, George Bliven, Leonard Evans, Sherman Mackin and Everett Tew. Music was furnished by a male quartette including Rev. C.A. Carman, Homer Dawkins, Cecil Myers and C.A. Mellott.
