MRS. VIOLA LINEWEAVER

Mrs. Viola Lineweaver, 83, Grinnell, formerly of Brooklyn, died Tuesday, July 24, 1990 in Friendship Manor, Grinnell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lineweaver were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27 in the Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, The Rev. Gerald Klaus officiated and the organist was Mrs. Angie Hawkins. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Osborn, Mrs. Ruth Manatt and Don Brannian.

Honorary casket bearers were Jason Osborn, Brent Lippincott, Bryan Lippincott and Ryan Maki. Casket bearers were Danny Osborn, Dell Osborn, Kenny Lippincott, Colin Lippincott, Keith Lippincott, Kenneth W. Lineweaver, John Lineweaver, Cole Lineweaver and Eric Lineweaver. Interment was in the Brooklyn Cemetery.

Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, was in charge of arrangements.

Viola May Force Lineweaver, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Force and Bertie Catherine Roudabush Force, was born near Brooklyn in Poweshiek County on March 20, 1907.

Mrs. Lineweaver received her education in a rural school and the Brooklyn High School graduating in 1924. She was united in marriage to Kenneth DeWitt Lineweaver on Oct. 14, 1926 in Brooklyn. They were later divorced. Mrs. Lineweaver owned and operated the Happy Hour Nursing Home in Grinnell until her retirement in 1972.

Mrs. Lineweaver was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Brooklyn; Harold McBroom American Legion Auxiliary Unit 635 of Laurel; Gleeful Workers; and Pythian Sisters of Brooklyn.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Lineweaver of San Antonio, Texas, and Richard Lineweaver of Arnolds Park; two daughters, Beulah, Mrs. Mike Buhrow of Laurel, and Betty, Mrs. Dean Lippincott of Brooklyn; one brother, Earl Force of Brooklyn; three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Dayton of Grinnell, Mrs. Blanche McIlrath of Mesa, Ariz.; and Mrs. Daisy Miller of Hartwick; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lineweaver was preceded in death by her parents.
