Mrs. Daisy L. Miller, 92, of Grinnell, a former resident of Hartwick and Victor, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Friendship Manor Care Center, Grinnell.

Funeral services for Daisy Miller were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 27, at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Rev. Dan Driscoll of Fayette, officiated. The musician was Marilyn Kriegel. Honorary casket-bearers were Mike Miller, Jeff Miller, John Miller, Dan Henderson, Darin Henderson, Mike Miller, Steve Miller, David Miller, Jane Rupp, Julie Grier, Mary Jo Patten, Lori Slaymaker, Katie Miller, Janet Brock, Judy Gwinn and Debbie Coffman. Casket-bearers were Brian Klemmensen, Jim Miller, Bruce Klemmensen, Tim Miller, Randy Miller and David Miller. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery.

Daisy Lavone (Force) Miller, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Force and Bertie Catherine (Roudabush) Force, was born Dec. 7, 1910, at Revenna, Neb. Daisy received her education in a rural school and attended Brooklyn High School for three years and her senior year at Hartwick High School. She graduated in 1929.

On Dec. 26, 1929, she married Theodore Samuel Miller in Hartwick. They were the parents of five children, Walter, Willis, Dean, Betty and Doris. They farmed west of Hartwick and north of Belle Plaine. Daisy was a cook at her sister Viola's nursing home in Grinnell. She also worked for Claire's Paint and Paper store in Brooklyn.

Her husband, Theodore, died June 19, 1978. She continued to live in Hartwick and later moved to Victor. Since July of 2000 she has been a resident of Friendship Manor.

Surviving are two sons, Willis Miller and his wife, JoAnn, of Victor, Dean Miller of Alea, Hawaii; two daughters, Betty Klemmensen and her husband, Wayne, of Elberon, and Doris Henderson of Adel; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Her husband; a son, Walter Miller; a brother, Earl Force; three sisters, Viola Lineweaver, Bernice Dayton and Blanche McIlrath; and one great-grandson, Todd Miller, preceded her in death.
