Funeral services for Theodore Miller, 69, of Hartwick, were held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, in the Congregational Church, Hartwick. Mr. Miller died June 19 in the Belle Plaine Sales Pavilion where he was employed.

Rev. Daniel Driscoll, Pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated. The organist was Mrs. George McConnell. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. John Gritsch and Mr. and Mrs. Randall O'Halloran. Casketbearers were his grandsons Jim Miller, David Miller, Mike Miller, Jeff Miller, Randy Miller, and Mike Miller. Interment was in the IOOF cemetery in Brooklyn. The Nevenhoven funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Theodore Samuel Miller, son of Franklin Myers Miller and Effa Marie Carlson Miller, was born north of Brooklyn in Poweshiek county. He received his education in rural schools and the Hartwick school. He married Daisy Lavone Force on December 26, 1929, in Hartwick. Mr. Miller engaged in farming and worked for the Belle Plaine Sales Pavilion.

He was a member of the Hartwick Congregational Church and had served as an elder of the church. He was a former member of the Hartwick city council, the fire department and served on the Hartwick school board.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Daisy; three sons, Walter of Salisbury Beach, Mass., Willis of Victor, and Dean of Alea, Hawaii; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Betty) Klemmensen of Toledo, Ohio and Mrs. Douglas (Doris) Henderson of Adel, Iowa; a brother, Elver Miller of Hartwick; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Maxwell of Deep River, Mrs. Irene Hurt of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. Abel (Lois) Doty of Brooklyn; 22 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
