FUNERAL SERVICES FOR CHAS. HAFKEY ARE HELD FRIDAY

Charles Albert Hafkey, second son of William and Helena Hafkey, was born at LeClaire, Iowa, January 10, 1870, and died after a brief illness at a local hospital, Oct. 20,1943, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 10 days.

With his parents he came to Poweshiek county in 1875, where he has lived except for 25 years spent on his farm in western Kansas. Returning, upon the death of his mother in 1928, he spent the remainder of his years at the family home in Grinnell.

He leaves to mourn his death one sister and one brother, Minnie and Louis Hafkey, both of Grinnell, three nieces and three nephews. Two sisters and three brothers have preceded him in death.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. W.B. Wilson were held at the James funeral home Friday afternoon, with interment in Chester cemetery. The music was provided by Mrs. Bouma and Mrs. Dempster.
