SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MRS. MANATT
Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Stowe Manatt, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Manatt died Tuesday in a Minneapolis nursing home.
The Rev. Wayne A. Shireman, pastor of the First Baptist church will officiate the services. Mrs. Willard Heffner will be the organist.
Pallbearers will be Max Arnold, E.D. Crossett, Charles Hink, J.C. Parrott, Norman Roseland, and Gerald P. Sampson.
Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Manatt was born Oct. 30, 1882 in Marne, Iowa to Burdelle Allen and Anna Theressa Earl Stowe.
When she was ten years old the family moved to Grinnell. After her marriage to Clare Manatt, they made their home in Mason City, Monmouth, Ill., Ft. Dodge, Des Moines, and Minneapolis, Minn.
Mrs. Manatt was a past grand noble of the Grinnell Rebekah Lodge No. 119 and had received her 50 year jewel from the Rebekah's.
Survivors include her husband, Clare, a retired railroad freight agent; four sisters, Mrs. C.F. (Lola) Connelly, Mrs. Wesley (Mary) Cratty, Ruth Stowe, and Bessie Stowe, all of Grinnell; two brothers -- Earl W. Stowe of Billings, Mont. and Willard (Bud) Stowe of Boone; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters -- Mrs. J.F. (Addie) Agnew, and Miss Lillian Stowe.
Friends may call at Smith Funeral Home Friday morning.
