ROY WALINE SERVICES HELD MONDY, AUG. 5

Roy C. Waline, son of Peter and Lena Waline, was born in Council Bluffs Oct. 11, 1894. As a small child the family moved to a farm south of Victor where he grew to manhood in that community and received his education in the rural school.

He entered the United Statres Army March 7, 1918 at Marengo. He received his Honorable discharge March 31, 1919.

On Nov. 24, 1921 he was united in marriage to Anna Schrader of Guernsey by the Rev. Carl Fritz, pastor of the Emmanuel Methodist church. On Nov. 29 of the same year they moved into their new home that had just been completed and have made their home in Victor since.

Mr. Waline was a carpenter and a cabinet maker as long as his health permitted. His health had been failing the past year and he entered the general hospital west of Grinnell July 3 and on July 23 he was taken to the Mercy hospital in Cedar Rapids where he passed away Aug. 2 at the age of 74 years 9 months and 21 days.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, six brothers, Harry and Arthur of Marengo, Fred of Guernsey, Elmer of Arcadia, Calif., John of Cedar Rapids and David of Moline, Ill., two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Wagner of Victor and Mrs. Dora Roberts of Monrovia, Calif., several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held from the McAninch Chapel Monday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. with Rev. H.B. Fay officiating. Military rites were conducted by the Harold E. Smith Post of the Victor American Legion. Two organ solos, "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were played by Mrs. Edith Shaul at the organ.

Flowers were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Edward McAdam.

Casket bearers were Francis Molitor, Cecil Schrader, Bert Ranfeld, Alva Neitzel, Howard Heinen and Harold Roggentine. Burial was in the Emmanuel cemetery.
