PEARL CLIFTON

GRINNELL--Graveside rites for Pearl Stepp Clifton, 68, of 406 State St., Grinnell, a former resident of Kellogg, were held today, June 5, at the Chester Cemetery, north of Grinnell.

The Rev. Lon Lewis, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Grinnell, conducted services.

Memorials to the Kellogg Historical Society, P.O. Box 295, Kellogg, Iowa 50135 will be accepted.

Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell handled arrangements.

She died Thursday at the Friendship Manor in Grinnell.

Survivors are her husband, Raymond; two daughters, Marilyn Holmes and Sherry Guyer, both of Newton, a grandson; two sisters, Flonnie Matherly of Grinnell and Maggie Foster of Kellogg; and two brothers, Floyd Stepp of Kellogg and Menvil Stepp of Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Kenneth Norris, and two sisters.

Mrs. Clifton was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

The daughter of Aught and Mollie Delk Stepp, she was born April 8, 1927 in Jamestown, Tenn., and the family moved to Kellogg when she was an infant. She was raised in Kellogg and attended schools in Kellogg and Grinnell.

She was married to Raymond Clifton in December, 1982.
