OSKALOOSA--Kenneth L. Norris, 69, of Oskaloosa, a former resident of Newton, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa.

The Rev. Alvern Boetsma, pastor of the Good News Chapel in Oskaloosa, will conduct services. Military graveside rites will be held at the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Bates Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.

Survivors are his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Randy) Holmes and Sherry Guyer, both of Newton; and a grandchild.

Also surviving are a step-son, Mike Schakel of Oskaloosa; three step-daughters, Judy (Mrs. Dan) Olsen, Sharon (Mrs. Dave) Knox and Robin (Mrs. Tom) Whitehead, all of Oskaloosa; and seven step-grandchildren.

Mr. Norris, an employee of the Grinnell post office for 18 years, had been a quality control inspector at the Maytag Co. for 20 years prior to his retirement.

The son of Fred and Ruth Gilbert Norris, he was born Aug. 14, 1922 in Grinnell.

He was married to Eva Joy (Joyce) Schujter Nov. 27, 1981 in Grinnell.

He moved from Newton to Oskaloosa in 1987.

NOTE: Whomever wrote this obituary left out Kenneth's eldest daughter, Sheryl Ann by his first wife, Audrey Rayl. Also omitted were Kenneth's 3 half-sisters, Carol, Jean, and Shirley Cunningham. Kenneth's 2nd wife was Pearl Stepp, mother of his daughters, Marilyn and Sherry.
