KENNETH NORRIS

Kenneth L. Norris, 69, Oskaloosa, formerly of Grinnell, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Mahaska County Hospital, Oskaloosa, of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 12, at Bates Funeral Chapel, Oskaloosa, with Pastor Alvern Boetsma of Good News Chapel, Oskaloosa, officiating. Burial was in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Grinnell, the son of Fred and Ruth Gilbert Norris. He was a graduate of Grinnell High School and served in the United States Army in World War II. He worked in the Grinnell Post Office for 18 years and later worked 22 years for the Maytag Company in Newton as a quality control inspector. He was a member of the American Legion.

He married Eva Joy Schujter Nov. 27, 1981, in Grinnell.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Norris, Oskaloosa; two daughters Marilyn Holmes and Sherry Guyer, both of Newton; one stepson Mike Schakel, Oskaloosa; three stepdaughters, Judy Olson, Sharon Knox and Robin Whitehead, all of Oskaloosa; one grandchild and seven step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Norris.

NOTE: Whomever wrote this obituary left out Kenneth's eldest daughter, Sheryl Ann by his first wife, Audrey Rayl. Also not mentioned were Kenneth's 3 half-sisters, Carol, Jean and Shirley.
