F.W. NORRIS DIES TODAY FUNERAL WED.

Fred William Norris, 65, of 1008 Franklin, died early in Graham hospital after a serious illness of 10 weeks.

Born February 16, 1895 in Brooklyn, Iowa he was the son of Jacob and Jane Ella Orr Norris. A veteran of World War I, he came to Keokuk in 1945 and owned and operated the O.K. Tire Shop.

On May 11, 1935 in Des Moines he married Delsina Pickering. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was a member of the Moose, Knights of Pythias, Royal Neighbors, World War I Barracks and American Legion.

Survivors are his wife, two sons, Kenneth L. of Grinnell and William of Hamilton, a brother Ralph and six sisters, Lillie of Upton, Wyo., Ina of Albuquerque, N.M., Mary of California, Grace of Washington state, Lela of Nebraska and Naomi of Central City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a brother Ray and a sister Jessie.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in DeJong's Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland K. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military rites.

NOTE: His second son was Wilbur, not William. His sister is Lila, not Lela. He was not preceded in death by a brother Ray..it should be Joseph Orvil. (Fred W. Norris was my grandfather..Marilyn Norris Holmes)
