LILLIE HOCKETT RITES HELD SAT.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Hockett, 75, were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Community United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Gunter officiating. Assisting was Rev. Roger Hawthorne, Mrs. Hockett's grandson.

Mrs. Hockett died Tuesday at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Buffalo following a lengthy illness. Music ws provided by Mrs. Joe Mejstrik organist and Mrs. Lou Frederick soloist.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home at Buffalo. Graveside rites were conducted by Upton Chapter No. 32, Order of the Eastern Star.

Pallbearers were Donald Gose, Max Moore, Jim Materi, Jim Gray, Neil Thompson and Pat Shannon.

Mrs. Hockett was born on November 5, 1898 at Montezuma, Iowa, and came to Wyoming in 1917 with her parents.

On April 16, 1921 she married Howard Butts. They lived on a ranch on Buffalo Creek until 1935 when they moved to Upton. Her husband died in 1939.

In 1946, she married Henry Hockett, who preceded her in death in 1970.

Mrs. Hockett was a bookkeeper for the M&M Service Station for many years. She was a member of the Upton Community Church, Pine Tree Rebekah Lodge No. 42, the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 32.

She is survived by one son; Calvin Butts of Buffalo; two daughters, Blanche Hawthorne of Gillette and Mrs. Laura May of Taft, California; one brother, Ralph Norris of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five sisters, Ina Price of Corrales, New Mexico, Grace Cookston of Elma, Washington, Mary Chapman of Upton, Lila Johnston of Gering, Nebraska and Naomi Price of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A son, Walter L. Butts preceded her in death.

NOTE: She died Sept. 3, 1974 in Buffalo, Johnson Co. Wyoming
