LUCILLE THOMAS EX-RESIDENT, DIES

Funeral services for Mrs. Toby (Lucille) Thomas, 59, of Montezuma, a former resident of Newton, were held today at the Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma.

The Rev. Paul Septer conducted the services. Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.

Survivors are her husband; a sister, Mrs. Mae Talbert of Montezuma; and two brothers, Lloyd Gilbert of Grinnell and Harry Gilbert of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ray.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of the First Church of Christ Disciples in Montezuma.

Mrs. Thomas had been employed briefly in Newton.

The daughter of Amos and Minnie McClain Gilbert, she was born Sept. 27, 1913 in Grinnell. She attended rural and city schools in the Grinnell community.

She was married Oct. 25, 1957 in Oskaloosa.

She died Friday at the Grinnell General Hospital.
