WM. SCHOOLEY DIED SUNDAY

William Webster Schooley was born October 30, 1847, in Scott county, Ind., and departed this life Sunday, July 18, 1926, at 10 a.m., at the home of his son, Will.

Most of his life was spent in Iowa, having moved here at the age of eight years. When but 14 years old the cares of the home fell upon him, his two brothers having died while serving in the army.

In 1869 he was united in marriage to Margaret A. Sheridan, daughter of Isaac and Susan Sheridan. To this union were born eight children, three sons, Elmer and Jessie, deceased, and Will of Grinnell; five daughters, Rena, Sadie and Mina deceased, and Mrs. Will Philliber, of Grinnell, and Mrs. Harry White of near Brooklyn, Iowa.

For the past twelve or thirteen years Mr. Schooley has been making his home among his children; the last three years his home has been with his daughter, Mrs. Harry White. At the time of his death he had been in the home of his son, Will, only one week.

Death followed five or six months illness of Bright's disease.

Mr. Schooley was preceded in death by his wife 26 years ago. The raising of the family was thus left on his hands, and those who knew him best testify that he made an excellent mother as well as a devoted father.

While he was not a member of any church his testimony, to loved ones and friends who talked to him about his soul was, that he was believing in Jesus and trusting Him as his Saviour.

Besides the three children there remain to mourn his departure, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Short funeral services were held at 1:00 o'clock this afternoon at the Snyder Parlors and then the body was taken to Lynnville, where services were held at 2:30 o'clock from the Friends' church, conducted by Rev. A.J. Fryhoff. Interment was in the Lynnville cemetery.
