LULA MAY SCHOOLEY

Lula May Schooley was born at Homer, Ia., Nov. 18, 1877, the daughter of William Manke and Julia Carpenter Manke. She died Aug. 26, 1956, at the Grinnell nursing home after a long illness.

On Dec. 16, 1900, she was united in marriage at Rolfe with Isaac Elmer Schooley. Her husband preceded her in death. A son, Robert Schooley, of Cedar Rapids survives.

Prior to her illness, Mrs. Schooley had spent her time as a housewife. She had been a resident of Grinnell for the past 50 years. She was a member of the North Side Friends church.

Funeral services were held Aug. 28 at the Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Rendel Cosand, pastor of the North Side Friends church, officiated. Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Pallbearers were Elmer Criswell, Obie Criswell, James Sarver, Gerald Schooley, Harold Schooley and Melvin Schooley.
