FORMER NEWTON RESIDENT DIES IN MARSHALLTOWN

MARSHALLTOWN - Mrs. Grace May Berriman, 52, former Newton resident, died Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown, where she had been a patient for the last four weeks.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Baptist church in Grinnell, by the pastor, the Rev. William Welch. Interment will be in the Hazelwood cemetery.

Mrs. Berriman was born at Grinnell May 19, 1884, and continued to live there after her marriage to Ira Berriman of Blue Grass, Ia., in 1901. Mr. Berriman died 21 years ago in Grinnell.

In 1926, the family moved to Newton, where they resided until moving to Marshalltown in 1928.

Surviving relatives are four children, Harold, Mrs. Eugene Smith and Ruth, all of Marshalltown and Mrs. Wayne Brindle of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Walter Benton of Escondido, Calif.; and two brothers, Walter Bliven of California and George Bliven of Grinnell. Two grandchildren also survive.
