Byrna J. Campbell, 68, of Grinnell, died of cancer at her home, Wednesday, April 26, 2000.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Epperson, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. Casket bearers were Bruce, Jason, Steffanie and Todd Campbell; Steve Cook; and Kevin (Bodie) King. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.

She was born April 9, 1932 in Grinnell to Mahlon and Viola Jewell Doud. She was raised in Grinnell and Washington State and was a 1950 graduate of Grinnell High School. She was married to Eugene Campbell November 11, 1950 in Newton. The couple lived in Grinnell and she was a homemaker and partner in Campbell and King Transfer Co. here.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Michael, of Grinnell; two daughters, Patricia Cook of Fairfax and Lori Campbell of Grinnell; two brothers, William and James Doud, both of Grinnell; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Her parents and one son, David, preceded her in death.
