DEPAUW FUNERAL CONDUCTED MONDAY

Double funeral services were conducted at St. Patrick's church here Monday morning for Mr. and Mrs. Edmond De Pauw, who were killed in a Highway 6 auto accident west of Brooklyn Friday evening. The Rev. Lawrence Mork, pastor, officiated at the requiem mass and gave the funeral sermon.

Interment was in Calvary cemetery where military honors for Mr. De Pauw were accorded by the Brooklyn post of the Americal Legion. Serving as pall bearers were Howie Lang, Glenn Hall, John Henning, Leonard Thys, W.P. Newman, William Roth, William Smith, Clarence Possehl, Carl Brunner, James Keller and Edward and Freeman Hall. In charge of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Keller and Mrs. Alice Wood.

The son of Charles and Clemence Geleyn De Pauw, Edmond De Pauw was born April 1, 1888, at Odgom, Belgium. When he was 21 years old, he came to the United States and lived at East Moline, Ill. for about three years before coming to the Hartwick community to work on a farm. He served in the army during World War I, and had been a member of the American Legion for many years. He leaves three sisters and two brothers, all living in Belgium.

Blanche Rose Marie Hendricks De Pauw was born April 15, 1904, at East Moline, Ill., the daughter of Julius and Emma Powell Hendricks. She had lived in the Hartwick community several years before her marriage. Survivors include her father, Julius Hendricks of Waukegan, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. F.T. (Bernice) Orr of Brooklyn and Mrs. Roy (Alice) Kirby of Highland park, Ill.; and three brothers, Frank Hendricks of North Chicago, Ill.; Albert Hendricks of Waukegan, Ill. and Charles Hendricks of Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, Morris.

Since their marriage April 27, 1921, Mr. and Mrs. De Pauw had always farmed in the Hartwick and Brooklyn communities. They retired from farming last fall and moved into Brooklyn.

They are survived by five children: Charles of Malcom, Raymond and Marvin of Brooklyn, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Henning of Hartwick and Wallace of Cedar Rapids. Ten grandchildren also survive. One daughter died in infancy.
