MRS. BRIMMER RITES CONDUCTED TUESDAY
Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bramer Funeral home for Mrs. Luetta Brimmer, 81, who died Sunday at Happy Hour Rest Home in Grinnell.
The Rev. E. Edward Philgreen, pastor of Grace United Methodist church, of which Mrs. Brimmer was a member, conducted the services. Mrs. Ed Bartachek was organist.
Burial was in Kent Cemetery north of Brooklyn. Pallbearers were Roger Sumner, Mark Walford, David Walford, Raymond DePauw, Michael DePauw and Willard Leach, Jr. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ramsey and Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Powell.
Luetta Hulda Brimmer was born to David and Mary Ann Hilligas Feb. 11, 1887. She was married to Nealy Brimmer and the couple had four children.
Mrs. Brimmer had spent most of her life in Poweshiek county. After the death of her husband in December 1918, she continued to raise her family on a farm in what is now the Holiday Lake area. Later she moved to Brooklyn.
She is survived by a son, Howard Brimmer of Brooklyn, and three daughters, Mrs. William (Beulah) Roth of Brooklyn, Mrs. George (Freda) Hajny of Sioux City, and Mrs. Carroll (Wilma) Keefe of Silvis, Ill.; nine grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Earnis, and half-brothers and sisters.
