MRS. FOSTER'S DEATH MOURNED

Anna M. Burch was born in Scott County, Iowa, May 25, 1860 and died at her home in Grinnell, Iowa, after a long period of illness, Sunday evening, July 31, 1927, aged 67 years, 2 months and 6 days.

The deceased was from her girlhood of a sweet religiously inclined mind and soul. Early in life she united with the M.E. church and became an active, earnest, Christian worker. The testimony of one who was a member of her Sunday School class said of her, "She was one of the most devoted Sunday School teachers I have ever known." Blessed with a splendid voice she used it in the service of her Lord and Master. She was for years the organist of her church and Sunday School.

December 6, 1882, she was united in marriage to B.W. Foster, also of Scott County, where they made their home until 1887, when they moved to Poweshiek County and settled in Chester township. Here Mrs. Foster found a place of worship in the Chester Center Congregational church of which she remained a consistent member until the family moved to Jasper county in 1906 when she united with the Mount Pleasant M.E. church southwest of Newburg. Thus she always found her place in church and Christian activities.

To Mr. and Mrs. Foster were born six sons and five daughters, all of whom are living not far from the old home. They are:

Fenton Arthur Foster, Newburg; Angie Eva Clindinin, Grinnell; Grace Barbara Harter, Grinnell; Hattie Mae Brown, Grinnell; James Raymond Foster, Grinnell; Ralph Thomas Foster, Grinnell; Fannie Hazel Huff, Gilman; LeRoy Benjamin Foster, Newburg; Elsie Marie Erwin, Laurel; Clarence Burch Foster, Grinnell; and Clyde Earl Foster, Grinnell. All members of the family were at home when their mother passed away.

Besides her husband, sons, and daughters there are twenty-seven grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, and many relatives and friends who mourn the passing of this splendid wife, mother, and friend.

Funeral services were held at the family home in Grinnell Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. H.L. Wissler of Chester Center.

The singing was by Mrs. T.A. Armstrong and Mrs. George Trumbull of the Chester church. Pall bearers were the six sons. The body was laid to rest in Hazelwood cemetery.
