BENJAMIN W. FOSTER DIES
Passes Away Early Sunday Morning At Home of His Daughter In Gilman

FOUND DEAD IN BED FROM A HEART ATTACK

Mr. Foster Had Farmed In This Community For The Past Forty-Five Years

B.W. Foster, highly esteemed among his many friends, relatives and acquaintances in Chicago, Grinnell, Newburg and vicinity, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Huff, at Gilman. It is with deep sorrow that his many friends learn of his death.

Short prayer services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Huff home at Gilman at 1:00 o'clock and funeral services will be held at the Methodist church of this city at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H.L. Wissler of Chester Center. Interment will be in the family lot at Hazelwood.

Mr. Foster had been in failing health for sometime. He came from his Chicago home to enter the Community hospital for medical care. After leaving the hospital he and Mrs. Foster went to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Huff, to stay until Mr. Foster was able to return to his home. Mrs. Foster had returned only a week ago to Chicago on important business, to return in just a short time. His condition at that time seemed improved.

As Mr. Foster had not arisen for breakfast at the usual time his daughter went to his room to see about him, finding that he had passed away only a short time before, about 6:30. He was mostly dressed and was sitting in a chair. His granddaughter Miss Mildred Huff, had heard him about his room just a short time before her mother found him. Mr. Foster had suffered heart trouble for sometime, together with other complications.

Mr. Foster was in Grinnell Saturday to see the doctor and dentist, although he was very poorly and had not seemed so well for the past several days.

Clarence B. Foster of this city is a son of B.W. Foster. He also has other children and relatives in this vicinity.

Mr. Foster resided in the vicinity of Newburg and Chester most of his adult life. His oldest son, Fenton Foster, was a baby when the family came to this county and all the other children were born and grew up in the neighborhood. The mother of his children died in Grinnell something like five years ago and since Mr. Foster remarried about two years ago, he and Mrs. Foster made their home in Chicago.

His eleven children survive. They are: Fenton Foster of Newburg, Mrs. Walter Clindinin of Grinnell, Mrs. John Harter of Grinnell, Ralph Foster of Newburg, Mrs. Clayton Brown of Montezuma, Ray Foster of Kellogg, Roy Foster of Newburg, Mrs. Charles Huff of Gilman, Mrs. William Erwin of Laurel, Clarence Foster of Grinnell and Earl Foster who lives on the farm home northwest of Grinnell. Numerous grandchildren and other relatives also survive him.

Brothers and sisters surving Mr. Foster are: Mrs. Ralph Sherman of Grinnell, Clyde Foster of Chester Center, Mrs. Maggie Burch of Grinnell, Russell Foster of Loveland, Colo., J.E. Foster of Paw Paw, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Ballenger of Montana.

Preceding him in death were one brother, Cliff Foster, and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Fuller and Mrs. Effie Steward.
