CLYDE E. MATHERLY SERVICES FRIDAY

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 20) for Clyde E. Matherly, 82, of 1321 Reed St., who died Tuesday morning at Grinnell General Hospital East.

Services will be held at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Lester Williams, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church at Manning, Iowa, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Vernon L. Smith, pastor of the Grinnell Calvary Baptist Chruch.

Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner. Pallbearers will be Charles Arment, Herbert Carter, Fred Heinle, Ben King, Raymond Selle and Paul F. Worcester.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

The son of George and Lucinda Lewis Matherly, Mr. Matherly was born Jan. 1, 1888, at Centerville, Iowa.

On April 25, 1912, he married Nora Mae Fullerton at Exline, Iowa. To this marriage four children were born. Soon afer their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Matherly came to the Grinnell community to make their home. They farmed on several farms near Grinnell and in 1940 moved to their present home. Mr. Matherly had worked with Midwest Stamping Co. in Kellogg for 15 years before retiring in 1959. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nora; four children--Glen L. Matherly of Marion, Ohio, Bernard Matherly of Pella, and Mrs. Lester (Beulah Maxine) Harris and Delmar Matherly of Grinnell; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

Mr. Matherly was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
