GRINNELL, IA. - Tena M. Hillmann, 81, of Grinnell died of cancer Thursday at Grinnell General Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Hillmann, a homemaker, was born in the Meservey and lived in Grinnell for 61 years, moving to St. Francis Manor nursing home three years ago.

She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Wilcke of Spirit Lake and Agnes Mikel of Grinnell; two sons, Elmer of Conrad and Daniel at Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Marcele Kottman of Thornton and Margaret Hake of Ovreland Park., Kan.; two brothers, Raymond Pals of Belmond and Russell Pals of Clear Lake; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Smith's Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, the nursing home or hospice Grinnell. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1990
