Lillian T. Vance, 88, of Grinnell died of lung cancer Friday at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, of which she was a member, with burial at Chester Cemetery.

Mrs. Vance, a homemaker, was born in Norway, Ia., and had lived in Grinnell since 1971.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Sears of Grinnell and Ellen Brutsman of Golden Valley, Minn.; a son, John of Glen Allen, Mo.; two sisters, Margery Peterson of Liscomb and Florence Towe of Wilbaux, Mont.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Grinnell or her church. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January, 1995
