The Montezuma Republican, Thursday, February 22, 1940. Alice ALLELY GRIMM Buried Wednesday. Died Suddenly at Home in Des Moines. Besides Her Husband and Two Sons, Many Relatives and Friends Mourn Her Loss. Funeral services were said over the body of Mrs. Alice ALLELY GRIMM of Des Moines, from the Church of Christ Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Arthur M. EASTMAN, pastor of the Methodist church. Death came suddenly at the home February 11th. The body was laid to rest in the Montezuma cemetery. Mrs. Charles GORSUCH sang "Home of the Soul," and "In the Garden." Pall bearers were Leslie, Clarence, Raymond and Virgil GRIMM, William ROBERTS and Wendell McCLAIN. Obituary: Alice ALLELY, daughter of William F. and Minnie ALLELY, was born March 21, 1911, on a farm three miles north of Barnes City, and passed away suddenly at Des Moines about 5:30 Sunday evening, February 11, 1940, at the age of 28 years, 10 months and 20 days. After the death of her father the family moved to Deep River where Alice attended the public school and graduated in 1930. She was married to Ernest GRIMM the following August. To this union were born two sons, Robert and Charles. In 1936, she moved to Des Moines, where she has since made her home. She leaves to mourn, her husband, Ernest, two sons, Robert 8, and Charles 5, her mother, Mrs. Minnie ALLELY, all of Des Moines, two sisters Mrs. Wilma SUHRE of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Lurene BROADSTON of Montezuma, and one brother, Alton ALLELY of Moline, Ill., besides a number of aunts, uncles other relatives and friends. Alice was stricken with bronchitis at the age of nine, and this was followed by asthma. She suffered frequent attacks from then on until her death. Through all her sufferings she was very patient, never complained of her lot and was kind to everyone. Alice was ready to go and her last words were to let her go home. She joined the Methodist church in Deep River at an early age but a few weeks before her death she joined the Four Square in Des Moines. She was active in the church work as much as her health would permit.
