Former Malcom Girl Victim in Near-Murder Tragedy at Joliet.

Word has been received here that George Skorup of Joliet, Ill., fired three shots at his wife Sunday in an effort to kill her. George Skorup is well known in the Malcom neighborhood where he worked at one time for Robert Spading. He is a barber by trade and conducted a barber shop under the living rooms.

George Skorup and Clara Spading were married May 14, and the attempted murder took place one month afterwards. The marriage ceremony took place at Joliet. The bride is but eighteen years old and the reports are that Skorup shot her in a fit of insane jealousy.
