Head Injury; in HospitalSharon Thomazin, 7, of Grinnell was hospitalized here late Wednesday afternoon after suffering a severe head injury in a head-on crash of two autos on the gravel road to Rock Creek state lake west of Grinnell.
This morning at Community hospital the girl's condition was satisfactory and the injury was not believed to be serious.
Cars driven by Carl E. Davis, 17, of Grinnell and Emil Mayberger, 47, of Columbus, Nebr., a relative of the Thomazins, collided at the Johnny Dhont corner. A Newton factory worker, Davis was eastbound while Mayberger, his wife and the Thomazin family were west bound en route to the lake.
Sandra Thomazin, 8, was treated for face cuts and released from the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Mayberger and Robert Thomazin, the girls' father, sustained bruises while Mrs. Thomazin escaped injury.
Mr. Mayberger, an auto dealer, and Mrs. Mayberger are Mr. Thomazin's son-in-law and daughter. The Mayberger car, a 1953 Chevrolet, and Davis' 1941 Buick were heavily damaged.
