IMPROVING FOLLOWING
RECENT POLIO ATTACK

Vickie McCarty, 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rease McCarty, 710 Second avenue, was reported improving Tuesday in the polio ward of Blank Memorial hospital in Des Moines.

Vickie was taken out of isolation Saturday and doctors hope that no permanent effects will result from her polio attack. For the time being, her feet are still slightly affected.

However, a threat that the paralysis might spread to her legs seems to have passed now and she is well on her way to recovery. It is not known when she can return home.
